Hides selected categories from lists. You can manage this from your admin panel, so you don’t need to open template
codes to add exclude parameter to wp_list_categories function. Essentially it adds exclude parameter to wp_list_categories
function but it’s so easy now. You can manage via admin panel.

  1. I’m testing your plug-in on our new site and it hides categories well. However, if I try to link to a hidden category I get a 404 error. Can categories be hidden from menu display, but still accessible through other links.

    I’m on WP v. 3.0.1.

    Thanks for the great plug-in.

    Have only one category ‘Uncategorized’

    Made that a ‘hidden category’

Posts still show “Posted in Uncategorized”

Hi there, I have been using your plugin on http://www.heliomail.com for a while and it’s great however I have just updated to WP3.1 and it appears to have broken it :(
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks

    hi,

i’m admin of the site above, and on our category list i cannot get rid of one called “uncategory”. There is no checkbox to delete it or perform other actions on admin panel and there is a note at the bottom : “Deleting a category does not delete the posts in that category. Instead, posts that were only assigned to the deleted category are set to the category uncategory”. I want to make uncategory be invisible on the site. Therefore I have installed your plugin for hiding categories, but don’t see any additional toolbar or buttons on my admin panel so I could hide/unhide categories. I’m using WP 2.9.2.

    Thank you.
    Lina

    Hi,

    >Go admin panel and manage hidden categories.
What do you actually mean by “admin panel”?
I have activated the plugin but I see no change anywhere and no way to hide categories.
